LoneStar Outreach to Place Ex-Racers
(LOPE) is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit that provides Texas ex-racehorses
with opportunities for new jobs after their
racing days are over.
LOPE
helps all breeds of racehorses (Quarter Horse, Thoroughbred,
Paint, Appaloosa, and Arabian) who are ending their racing
careers
in Texas
find
new
homes and useful,
happy second careers.
LOPE
partners with the Texas racetracks to help find racehorses new
homes through its online services and
ranch facility. Race trainers may also donate or sell their horse
to LOPE and the organization will find approved non-race homes
for their horses.
The
LOPE program has been warmly received by the Texas racing industry
and the many Texas sport horse disciplines.
LOPE
believes that every ex-racehorse is just waiting to be someone's special
champion -- whether as a trail horse, show competitor or just plain
pet!
