- Please keep appointments with trainers and owners: Your
continued courtesy is part of what allows LOPE to operate at the
private barn areas of the Texas tracks. When visiting, please
keep in mind that you are visiting a workplace, and trainers are
taking time out of their day to show you horses. Honesty is the
best policy, so please just be up front with trainers and owners about your interest or non-interest
in their horse. To ensure a successful visit, it is advised that you call the trainers in advance to make sure the horse is still available.
- Purchase disclaimer and recommendation: LOPE DOES NOT guarantee the soundness, temperament, age, suitability or condition of any horse at any time. We recommend that you have a pre-purchase exam done and use caution when considering any horse listed for sale. Neither LOPE nor its representatives have vetted these horses prior to listing!
- Horse descriptions: Details posted in the horse listings are provided by the trainers
and owners. LOPE has not verified all claims therein.
- Horse suitability: Most of these are green horses and many are still actively racing. They are not for beginner riders; they take a significant amount of retraining to become pleasure horse
- Free service: The service is FREE to both those listing and buying.
LOPE does not set the prices of any trainer-listed horses nor do we negotiate the
price and terms of horse sales. That is solely between buyer and seller, LOPE is
not a broker. We do not receive commissions on horses bought through
the site, nor do we have financial ties to the sellers.
