Purchase a Copy of Beyond the Homestretch
A portion of proceeds from the sale of each copy of Beyond the Homestretch sold will directly support LOPE's mission of providing Texas ex-racehorses with opportunities for new careers after their racing days end. Memorial Donations
If you would like to make a donation to LOPE in memory of a loved one or beloved pet, please contact LOPE with the details and we will post the information on our memorial page. Secure and timely online donations can be made by clicking on the "PayPal" button above.
LOPE Adoption Ranch Facility
LOPE has an adoption and rehabilitation ranch facility near Austin that takes in injured horses until they are ready to be adopted into new homes. The LOPE Ranch is in need of many items and services, and we are actively soliciting donations for the following:
- Hay and alfalfa
- Pasture-management equipment for tractor
- Grass seed and fertilizer
- Run-in shed materials
- Fencing materials
- Landscaping services
- Tree services
Annual LOPE Benefit Horse Show
Since 2007, the Texas Horse Enthusiasts Forum Board members have sponsored a benefit horse show for LOPE. It's a fun show for all levels of riders – a great event for families especially. There are many types of classes for English and Western riders of all levels. The show also includes a silent auction fundraiser. In 2009, nearly 100 horses participated in the show, and over $8,000 was raised in support of LOPE. The 2010 show raised over $9,000. Learn about the show.
Sponsor a Horse
If you would like to sponsor one of the horses at the LOPE ranch, your gift or financial donation will be applied toward the specific feed, hay, vet and general care of the horse you specify. Check out the LOPE Ranch horses available for adoption.
Gifts of grooming brushes, special treats, halters, vet supplies and other items are also deeply appreciated by the LOPE horses as they wait for new homes!
Volunteering
If you would like to volunteer, please email LOPE and let us know where you are located and what type of volunteer work you are interested in. We especially need help with foster care for horses, horse transport, working promotion tables at events, and soliciting product donations from manufacturers and merchants.
