Poptart retired from racing at age four after a successful career on the track. But unlike many racehorses, his working life wasn't over. He spent the next six years as a pony horse, helping escort young racehorses to and from the track and serving as a steady, dependable partner for riders and horses alike.
Poptart joined the LOPE teaching herd in spring 2026. His years of experience around people, horses, and busy racetrack environments have made him a calm and patient teacher. Today, he helps students learn about horsemanship, racehorse aftercare, and the many different careers horses can have after racing.
A former racehorse, pony horse, and now teacher, Poptart reminds us that every horse's story can have more than one chapter.
